Total: 74

Good Effort if i do say so myself. Next year I will probably increase it more. With BJ and I moving in together we will have a lot more time to watch movies (AND TV shows).

I should really do a blog like this for TV shows but it's a hard one because there are soo many series we started this year as well as one's we've continued from past years. There is soo much GREAT TV out there at the moment so i might just mention some of my favourites currently.

Great Shows:
Breaking Bad - fantastic show. I wasn't the happiest person with regards to the ending of season 4 but i fucken love that show. Boardwalk Empire - Just amazing. Everything about it is perfect. The acting the sets the costumes. Louie - HILARIOUS!!! Don't need to say anything else. For Animation I'm in love with Bob's Burgers and Archer. I still love How I Met Your Mother. My new favourite sitcom is New Girl. Perfect in every way. Game Of Thrones - Mother fucken Game of THRONES!!!! The Killing is the most depressing show i've watched and actually had to stop for a while because i couldn't handle it but it's such an amazing edge-of-your-seat show. The Walking Dead always gets your heart racing and the season of nothing happening was worth sitting through for the last 10 minutes of the season final. Mike and Molly, Raising Hope and Melissa and Joey are all worth watching, feel good shows. The nerd in me feels enough people don't know about Eureka and should.

Not So Great Shows:
I'm proud to say i've finally quit True Blood. Talk about a shit show. It made me soo angry but i'm not one to finish mid season so i toughed it out. Also, I'm pretty disappointed with how this years season of Dexter went. It turned really soapie and lame. I still can't tell if Colin Hanks was acting really well or REALLY BADLY. Season ending was a twist which HOPEFULLY will improve next season. Entourage's ending was what BJ described as and i quote 'A pile of shit'. Glee has been stinkin' pretty bad since the end of season 1. This season of Chuck has been a bit lagging which makes me sad.

So there is a little insight to SOME of the TV I've watched this year. (I watch a fuckload of TV).

BJ are I are trying to decide weather to watch a TV show or movies to bring us into 2012.  So i may have to add to this later on.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year.
2012 is going to be the best!!

2 Weeks To The Day

Today is exactly two weeks till we get our keys and move into our house. By this time two weeks from now we'll be getting ready to have our first meal together in our new home.

I am excited about it but got a lot of other things going on that are preventing me from getting as excited as I'd like to be right now.

Today i packed up a heap of boxes and moved things out of my room. I've living in this room of mine for about 13 years and have no space for anything anymore. Trying to pack 25 years of stuff up into boxes is hard work.

On top of the stuff i already had in there I've accumulated other household items since we bought the house. So I've been boxing up kitchenware and stuff as well.

This whole house thing has come up super fast and it's very scary and daunting. I still have soo much to do to get us ready for it.

Cooper has noticed that something is going on and he's behaving like a total jerk. I think he suspects BJ and I are going on a holiday or something because i keep packing things. Little does he know that he'll be packed in a box soon enough and will be coming with us :)

In two more sleeps it's New Years Eve and we currently have no plans. I don't know what will happen for us New Years Eve but i do know that i will be washing my hands of 2010 that night.

I think the hardest part for me this year has been that i haven't had someone that i could comfortable open up and talk to.... And I've really needed that. I've got a couple of great friends in The States who i have confined in but it's soo hard to D&M with them when the back and forth could stretch over days.

So on top of the goals I've already set for 2012..

-Enjoy life
-Less go of my worries
-Remove everything that brings me down
-Be more positive
-Create a lovely home with BJ
-Smile more
-Create more
-Not be afraid of saying what i think
-Eat less junk food
-Exercise regularly

I'm going to try and make more friends. Friends with people who actually care about me and how I'm feeling. Friends with people willing to lend an ear. Friends who want to try and organise something with me and not have it always be me making the plans.

That's what I want from 2012.

Cleaning out my closet

Wow! Christmas is almost hear which means New Years is just around the corner and then... We get OUR HOUSE!

It's all coming around super fast and with how this year has gone for me I'm planning to do everything i can to make sure 2012 starts off great and continues to be a fantastic year without any worries.

So between Christmas and New Years, while i have some time off I'm going to be Eminem'ing it and Cleaning out the closet that is my life.

I DO actually need to clean out my physical closet to because it's sooo full of crap and i need to sort through it all and pack for the move. But I'll also be cleaning out anything else i can think of.

My Facebook is going to get another cull/clean up. Get rid of all those people that were accepted as friends but have not once spoken to since that day and have no desire to speak to them in the future.
The people from my past... from school... who i haven't seen since then and maybe once in a blue moon they'll send me a message or invite me to a group event (which is usually just to tell people that they've got a new phone number).

I'm getting rid of them all. Why be a 'Facebook friend' with someone you aren't actually friends with?!
Would you invite them out for your birthday? Have you planned to hang out with them in any way since accepting them as a friend? Would you invite them to your housewarming?... No.... Then why are they 'friends'?

I'm getting rid of all the negative. All the stuff that gets in my way, and brings me down. All the stuff that makes me feel unhappy or worthless.

I'm getting rid of old clothes that i put aside because 'one day they might fit me again' or 'even though i split something on that top and it stained it was still super cute and i just cant throw it away'.

2012 is a HUGE year for me. Moving out of home, Taking on a mortgage, Being responsible for soo much more. I need to go into 2012 feeling positive and in control.

If you can see past all that hair... That's BJ... The man i love. The man I've bought a house with and have every intention to spend the rest of my life with. I'm doing this all for us. So that we can both have the best 2012.

Some of you may know... I'm one of those people that needs to have a plan. Needs to know what's going on. I have lists for everything. If something goes wrong with my plan, i can become that crazy person crying in the corner. Moving is going to stress me like nothing else. And I'm trying to a stress-less 2012.

Now don't get me wrong... 2011 was a good year. BJ and I went on a family cruise which was awesome fun, we've gone to see some great concerts and gigs, We bought our house and started buying furniture and other items we need for it. But there are been a lot of shit that came with this year too.

There was a pretty shitty few months early on. Which sent me into a seriously depressed state... Then there was that long road of hard work and medication to get me to where i am today.
Just thinking about that period of time gets me quiet emotional and teary because i fear becoming that person again. But I'm not going to let that happen.

So bring on 2012... Bring on the house and the bills and the cooking and cleaning up after ourselves. Bring on the freedom of living in my own house, being able to paint the walls and hang up posters and play music as loud as i want.

Bring on positive thinking and relaxing more and not getting upset if something doesn't go exactly to plan. Bring on spending everyday with BJ and Cooper, Cooking together every night, Shopping for food, recording Fork This (without interruptions), Having people over to hang out, cuddling up on the couch to watch a movie. Bring on having my own crafting space, being able to leave projects out to work on as i please.

2012 is my year... The year of Smorgy! My year of happiness and joy.
And I'm NOT going to let anything change that.

Let the countdown begin

Fork This - Episode 30

This week on Fork This while we were sitting having dinner with the family, Josh casually looked up, out the window and says 'Theres a peacock near Megans car'... OMG!!! I run to the window.

For 6 years i've heard about this 'wild peacock' in BJ's street but never have i actually seen it.

I screamed at BJ to grab the video camera, threw some shoes on and started chasing it up the street.

The Slacker, the Assholes and the Vent

I am embarrassed with how slack I've been lately with my blogging.

The world is just moving soo fast and I can't seem to keep up with everything.

So what's been going on lately... We'll.... BJ and I bought a house. Which is super awesome and exciting. BUT also very stressful. As neither of us have lived out of home we don't have a lot of the important BIG things like a fridge, a couch, a washing machine. It became very daunting thinking of all the things we need.

We've managed to round up a heap of furniture (most of which has been free) and got some other big items we needed. The couch, we decided to buy new... Something nice that we've picked to go with our house, that no one else has 'pre-loved'.

Right now the only things we really need are kitch based (Because there is SO much needed in that room) and cleaning items/products.

We get our keys early January and start making our big move into REAL adulthood.

My brain has been a pile of mush lately. Dealing with the house - Putting in the offer, waiting, and waiting and waiting for an answer, trying to keep our news between us (and imediate family) until it was ready to be shared. Dealing with applications and finance approval and valuations and deposits.
Thinking about all the things we need and want and have to do when we move in.

There is a horrible feature wall that MUST be painted out first thing... So right now we are trying to decide what colour to paint the new feature wall.... Which is just painting over the current one, but painting that one out and changing which wall is a feature. So we actually have to paint the whole lounge room and kitchen so it all matches.

I've had a lot of restless nights lately, we disturbing dreams and i wake up feeling like i haven't slept a wink. My brain just wont shut down. Things are getting to me easily. Stress is taking over.

On top of our great news about our house, this week i got some bad news. For my regular readers/friends/family, you'll know about the car accident BJ had in my car in April this year and all the pain i have gone through to try and get some answers/results.
The last point i was at which was about 3 weeks ago (Before purchasing the house) - The insurance company (RACV) had decided to tell me firstly, that both parties we at fault and then 30 minutes later changed their minds and decided 'Naaar... Your a fault'. I'm sure it was purely to get money because i told them i wasn't going to go through insurance to fix my repairs as it'd be cheaper to do it ANYWHERE else.

SO I've been fighting with them because i don't believe it's fair that they can just change there mind after telling me the 'final decision' and cancelling the claim when i requested it. AND i've been having to just sit around and wait for the lazy-ass other party who was in a big hurry to get his car repaired when it first happened in April but then didn't respond to RACV's calls, texts, letters etc and wasted 6 months of my life.

It got to the point that RACV cancelled the claim because he STILL hadn't done anything to get his car fixed... 'Cancel the claim, but that's great Megan' I hear you say. SUUUUUUUUURE it would be great, If the other party weren't allowed to re-open it at any point over the next SEVEN YEARS!!!

And so of course i stupidly convinced myself that he's probably going to take another 6 months to get of his ass and do something, so i started putting little bits of money aside for the excess BUT this week... When our house deposit is due, he decided to re-open the claim and i get the call 'That'll be $950' - FUCKERS!

He couldn't have waited a couple more weeks so i had the money aside prepared?!

I get really angry about this topic (As you can probably tell) because i've done the right thing since day one and RACV and the other party have both fucked me.

This week i've said goodbye to RACV... And you know what assholes - Now you miss out on my house and contents insurance!! How do you like them apples?!

Oh and this isn't over... I'm going to the insurance ombudsman to make a MASSIVE complaint because this whole thing is just bullshit.

'But Megan, you bought a house!!! Yaaaay!' - Don't get me wrong, i am excited... But i am sooo tired from all this car shit... I'm sick of having to be the one to follow it up, having to take my car to be assessed, having to write the report and draw the diagrams, having to save the money.... It sucks!! It sucks balls... Hairy one's at that.

I'll be glad when the car is fixed, the excess has been handed over and I finally don't have to think about it anymore.

I appologise to everyone that has had to put up with my venting on this subject. It's upset the hell out of me.

PS: My car turned 1 year old last week... It's a shame his face is still all scratched up :(

Fork This - Episode 22 - Midweek Purchase

WATCH THIS!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Incase you couldn't figure it out from our little episode... BJ and I bought a house this week :)

We are soo excited to FINALLY be moving in together, into our own place... Which has a backyard perfect for gatherings and Cooper.

We move in January 2012 so it's not long at all.

The process of us buying a house happens super quickly. We started looking online and then decided to sit down with our finance guy and see where we were at. He told us we could be looking seriously now and so two weeks ago we decided to spend a Saturday looking at open houses. The first one we went to was the one we bought. Only went to two others that weekend. Discussed it all and put an offer in on the weekend. Kept everything top secret so we didn't jinx it and Monday night we recieved the call.

Agent: 'It's Yours!!!!'.
Me: Makes the    *'We bought a house!!!!'*    face at BJ while he was driving
BJ: 'Shit! I have to pull over!'

We rang the parents and told them the news. But because we wanted to wait till we had the contracts in our hands we kept the secret a little bit longer. Tuesday i went and picked up the contracts and we decided this episode was the best way to share with the world our exciting news.

This was something i've been looking forward to for such a long time and to finally been able to do it.... Well, i couldn't be happier. But on top of that i got to share the process with BJ. It was just the two of us. We found the house, we agreed, we made the decisions, we put in the offer (with some advice for parents), we did it all.

It was something i felt was just for the two of us. No one else needed to know until we had something to share and i'm soo happy we didn't tell. I didn't want anyone putting any negativity on it, or have put it out there too much and have too many people wanting to know what's going on with it.... The questions from other people stressed me out more then buying a house ever could.

Congratulations for my wonderful partner BJ for achieving such an amazing thing. We have just taken a GIANT leap forward and i know we will both be super happy with it.
I also want to thank both mine and BJ's mum's for coming and checking out the property and giving us sooo much support during this time. You are both fantastic and we are sooo lucky.

NOW all our overseas friends can start saving for their trips to Australia as we have a bed with ALL of your names on it.... Travelling orgy!!!

Thanks for reading my exciting babbles about this awesomeness.

xx
Smorgy

PS: IF you happen to have any furniture or other household items you'd be looking at getting rid of... PLEASE keep BJ and I in mind.
As we haven't rented before buying, we have accumilated much for our house as yet so we are seeking quiet a bit of stuff :)

We Love Colors Review

A couple of months ago i was in our local shopping center and i walked past Ishka peering into their window. I stopped as soon as i saw all the manikin's wearing these awesome bright coloured tights.

The tights stood out soo much i they were all i talked about for awhile.

A couple of weeks later i went with my sister and we both bought some as they were on sale.

The tights are by a company called We Love Colors and once we found this out we both went home and did some online window shopping.

They have a HUGE range of tights with more colours then i've ever seen available.

I've never been much of a tights wearer as i found my legs were too big and that they didn't look good.
But i decided to give them a go as they were soo pretty.

The pair i bought from Ishka were Turquoise. I loved them soo much that i bought a pair of Maroon and Hunter Green as well.

As Ishka they only have S/M sized tights so i crossed my fingers that they'd fit. And they did. But i felt that i was constantly having to wiggle them up and re-adjust them to feel comfortable.

So when i ordered the other two pairs (directly from the We Love Colors site during a Free shipping to Australia deal) I got them in M/L.

They fit perfectly and i didn't feel the need to adjust them so often.
The turquoise one's have stretched a bit now and are a lot better then they were first wear, but i think in future i will continue to get the M/L as my legs are quiet long.

These tights are fantastic. The are thick but not too thick that you can't wear them on warmer days.
The colours are bold and even when i've stretched them out over my large thighs they still look like a solid colour.

One of my biggest things about tights is that i have leg tattoos and i don't like how my tattoo's look when i have tights on. I love the We Love Colors tights because you can't see through them so i don't end up looking like i'm wearing tights with fake tattoo's printed on them... I'm not one of those people.

AND their variety isn't just with the colours... They have leggings, footless, 3/4 length. They have different materials from microfiber to Lycra and they also do fishnets and socks in these awesome colours too.

I will continue to buy tights from We Love Color as I LOVE them.
PLUS There customer service is GREAT.

Here are some photos of some cute outfit's i've put together with my awesome tights.

~ Turquoise ~

~ Hunter Green ~

~ Maroon ~

My sister also order some pairs of tights. She got funky striped ones to wear when she's Hula Hooping. I took a couple of photos to add.

~ Scout Green and White Stripes ~

I recommend We Love Colors to anyone looking for some funky, good quality tights.
