Goals for 2013

At the end of 2012 I was thinking about what goals i wanted to set for 2013.

I've decided I'm not going to make a list of massive goals that i might not achieve and then will feel miserable that i haven't. Right now I'm really happy with life and even though there are a few things i would like to change, if they didn't, I'd still be happy.

The obvious goal i have is still to lose weight and get fit... I'm doing this slowly but now with the wedding ahead of us i have motivation there to work harder to achieve this.

The other goals i have are:

To manage our money even better then we have this first year in our house... We have a wedding and honeymoon to pay for and i want to make sure that we are still saving well and keeping our redraw account full.

To paint the rest of the house. We have all the paint but in the last 12 months have only completed a room and 1/2. I'd like to have completed the rest of the house by 2014.

To be more creative. Weather it's with food or craft i don't mind but i've slacked off a fair bit last year and was only creative when there was a birthday or occasion for it. Not this year. (At least with the wedding i know there will be plenty of creativity.)

BJ and I have set a couple of challenges for ourselves already this year:

We have decided that January, February and March are going to be take away free. We've added a clause that pizza isn't included because normally we'd be lucky to have pizza once in 3 months anyway. (And because one of our traditions we are starting is that on the anniversary of the day we moved into our house, we are going to reenact that night and walk up to get pizza and watch a movie together.

We've also decided to do 'Meat-less March' which i think will be an easy challenge for BJ but a difficult one for me.

And on top of these goals and challenges, we've both decided to re-do 365. After two years back I thought it would be a fun little challenge. A self portrait every day for 365 days. We are both members of the DnD 365 group on Flickr which is full of our friends from all over the world and we are excited that soo many of them have decided to do the 365 this year as well.

Usually it's BJ who pulls the faces

Let the awesomeness of 2013 commence.

It Is Time...

...to lose some weight!!!

I've gotten really slack in the 8 months we've been in the house and I need to step it up.

Last year i was hooping for exercise but the weather lately has just been too horrible to be outside so i've been getting on the Wii Fit each night. My (slightly pathetic) goal is to get on for at least 20 minutes each night after i get home from work.

I was doing well for the first two weeks but last week I didn't get on the damn things once. I planned to start my routine again today but woke up feeling very unwell and the only thing that makes me feel slightly better is to move as little as possible.

July 2011 and May 2012 are the same dress and you can see the difference 9 months has made.

Once the weather gets a little nicer i will get the hoop out and try and give myself more time each night to exercise. I want to set some goals and use my blog to keep me accountable, so hopefully i'll post them soon.

Owl Obsession

I've developed a bit of an Owl Obsession over the last few years
I think it came from being in Wisconsin with Dawn Miceli and Drew Domkus (From The Dawn and Drew show) staying on their farm and Dawn had a collection of figurines which i fell in love with.

I'm a strange collector... I don't just collect one particular thing.

I have a lot of different collections:
- Coca cola collection
- Camera collection (Digital, film, toy + lens etc)
- Figurines collection (Inaction figurines, Kid Robot blind boxes etc)
- Spongebob collection
- Tickets collection (movies, theatre, concerts, flights etc)
- Around the world trinkets collection (bottle caps, stones, menus, brochures etc)
- Keyring collection
- Japanese Vending Machine collection
- Sticker collection
- Sunglasses collection

Just to name a few.

On top of that i have a MASSIVE DVD collection and a HUGE craft supplies collection. Which i don't REALLY count as 'collections'. BJ and I discussed this recently and i feel a collection is something that you look out for no matter where you are. Something that takes prime spot on your shelf, that you protect from being damaged in any way.  Something that when people visit and see they go 'wow.... I can't believe you have that!'

Anyway, Back to the owls.
Made by my friend Manda in Wisconsin

I own several pairs of owl pajama pants and this weekend i bought a pair of owl undies too hehehe.
Hooooooooooooot!!
I also have this awesome Owl pull over hoodie

I recently found this little shop near my home that i'm in love with. It is called Seventh Owl and it's a variety of things that are owl related. From Clothing, artwork, jewelry to Fabric, bags, figurines etc.

Sadly, it's closing down... On the plus side, everything is 50% off and boy did i take advantage of THAT!!!

In my recent visit i bought a bag full of goodies.

And I fell in love with this dress...

They have little mono-brows hehehee

I didn't think it was ment to be, as there were only 4 there and 3 of them were small... Just one medium and i didn't think it would fit me well enough. But when i put it on i just smiled. It looked great. I loved it. AND it was half price!!! Destiny!!

Bought a cute wallet and some adorable material too.

After finding this store i told several people and planned to visit at least once more before it closed. I kept wondering if the small dress would fit me as the medium was soo comfortable, and i was throwing around weather or not i should go back and try one on.

Before i had a chance to get their one of my worker's went and purchased herself one of the small dresses. She bought it into the office for me to see... and to try on. And guess what....

IT FIT!!!!
(Really bad picture... Sorry)

The next day I took an adventure to the store on my lunch break but alas, the small owl dress wasn't ment to be as the last one had JUST sold not moments before i arrived.

But hey... At least i know it would have fit :)

So my owl collection is getting bigger. I'll need more space soon now that i've added yet another thing to my collection of collections.

Collecting is a hoooooooot! I'd love to know what you collect, post a comment or write on my facebook and let me know.
